Edit: This announcement has been edited to include the addition of the NRG Series Arena events. Read more below. This announcement has also been edited to include additional dates/locations for Season 2 and Season 3.
The NRG Series is thrilled to announce our return for 2022! Despite an anything-but-expected 2020 and an abbreviated 2021 season, our enthusiasm for competitive tabletop Magic has never been higher. The 2022 NRG Series will award nearly $250,000 in total cash prizes across multiple formats, bring us to new cities across the Midwest US, and continue to deliver a best-in-class player experience in tabletop and online tournaments. Enough summarizing; let’s get to the details!
NRG Series Tabletop Weekend Schedule
The 2022 NRG Series will be divided into three seasons, each one lasting approximately four months. Our $15,000 Trial weekends will include a $10,000 Trial on Saturday and a $5,000 Trial on Sunday. Each season in 2022 will include a Showdown Weekend, featuring a $15,000 Showdown ($20,000 in Seasons 1 and 2) on Saturday and a $5,000 Trial on Sunday. The Top 4 matches of each Saturday event will play out on Sunday morning and players will receive the appropriate amount of byes (up to one) in Sunday’s Trial.
